🎉 Pringles Ring Challenge Accepted! 🎉

Our 6th-grade STEM students took on the ultimate engineering test: building a freestanding perfect circle using only Pringles chips. No glue, no tape, just pure physics and structural engineering!

Our little scientists and engineers had a blast with a hands-on STEM literacy challenge today! Using mini craft sticks, students fished through our "Alphabet Soup" to build letters of the alphabet and spell out their own names.

This activity was a fantastic way to develop critical thinking, spatial awareness, and fine motor skills. We love watching their creativity and confidence grow as they design, build, and learn!

7th grade Boys Basketball Coach needed:

There will be a meeting for any 3rd through 6th grader interested in running cross country Monday, August 17 at 6:00p in the cafeteria. Contact Coach Cook if you cannot make it for the meeting.

Today, our 6th graders took on a fun team-building challenge! They were divided into groups of three, and the challenge came with a twist—each student had to keep one arm behind their back and, most importantly, they couldn’t talk! 🤫

Working together without words, they had to communicate, cooperate, and problem-solve to build a house of cards. 🃏🏠

There were plenty of smiles, a few wobbly towers, and lots of teamwork along the way! What a great way to learn that sometimes the best way to accomplish something is by working together, listening, and trusting your teammates. 💪🐻

Way to go, 6th graders! We’re proud of you!

Our 5th and 6th graders put the Engineering Design Process to the test in STEM class! 🧪🔧

Their challenge: Using only the materials provided, teams of engineers had to move 10 marbles from one cup to another without touching the cups or marbles. Students had 10 minutes to plan individually and another 10 minutes to collaborate and create their team design.

There was plenty of problem-solving, teamwork, creativity, testing, and redesigning along the way! 🚀 The first team to successfully transfer all 10 marbles won the challenge. 🏆

It was amazing to see our students think like engineers and learn that sometimes the best solutions come from trying, failing, redesigning, and trying again!

The second graders have had a busy week learning all about their classroom routines. For each routine that they learned, they earned a patch for their vest. Our second graders are ready for second grade!

Mrs. Mast’s 2nd Grade STEM class explored some STEM materials and built their names using cooperation and creative thinking!

Our third graders took on a cup stacking challenge that put their teamwork, communication, and perseverance to the test! Working together, they had to plan, problem-solve, and communicate as they attempted to complete the challenge. There were plenty of tumbles and moments of frustration but they didn’t give up! They learned from their mistakes and found success.

4th grade participated in a blind puzzle challenge that encouraged productive struggle. After working toward the same goal of a finished puzzle, they identified the behaviors that led them to success. With these behaviors in mind, students created their classroom rules and set the tone of success for the year!

Hardin Northern is on a 2 Hour Delay due to fog today, Thursday, August 13, 2026.

Our third graders had fun putting their STEM skills to work with a toothpick and marshmallow challenge! Students worked together to design and build structures while practicing creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork. They tested their ideas, made adjustments, and learned from their mistakes. We had a great time watching their creative ideas come to life!
