Ms. DeLong's class spent the week doing turkey themed activities and celebrating Thanksgiving! They wrote about how to cook a turkey, wrote what they are thankful for, made a fact family turkey, and completed a cutting challenge. They also made a Thanksgiving dinner craft and had their own feast! The first graders want to thank all the parents who helped with the feast and to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

Our third graders, with help from some of Mrs. Cano’s talented high school art students, worked hard to create incredible floats for their very own Hardin Northern Thanksgiving Day Parade! Their creativity and teamwork truly shines and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts!

After learning about background, middleground, foreground and aerial perspective, Mrs. Cano's 8th grade art class put their knowledge into practice by creating 3D sculptures based on a television show of their choice. Students built box televisions and then filled the inside with a scene from their chosen show using the concepts learned in class. Students used watercolor to paint a background and then cardboard and paint to build a middleground and foreground. Once the sculptures were complete, students wrote scripts to act out and record and then made QR codes and remotes for their TV's so viewers could click the QR code and hear the students act out the scenes.

Today Mrs. Morris’s third-grade class teamed up with some of Mrs. Cano’s high school art students to start their balloons for the HN version of Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade!
Stay tuned, as the parade with both 3rd grade classes will be recorded tomorrow for everyone to enjoy. We can’t wait to see the Polar Bear pride and artistic talent shine in this special Thanksgiving celebration!

Today, the seniors and kindergartners in our CAPS and CRAYONS program spent some quality time together creating a fun Thanksgiving craft and having lunch together. It was heartwarming to see the bonds continue to grow as they got to know each other better.
As we head into Thanksgiving, we’re grateful for the friendships forming through this program and for the amazing students who make it all so special. Moments like these remind us how strong our Polar Bear connections truly are!

Look who’s in the classroom teaching today! Mr. Cano is stepping in to teach history classes this afternoon while Mr. Foster enjoys a well-deserved afternoon off.
Mr. Foster earned his afternoon off by winning the competition to name Mr. Cano’s monthly superintendent report. His creative idea, Beyond the Ice, was chosen as the winner!
Stay tuned for next week, when this month’s edition of Beyond the Ice will be released.

Mrs Hackworth's first grade at Hardin Northern read a book called "Gratitude Soup". All week the students wrote what they were grateful for and added to our soup. They learned to be grateful for things big and small.

Today, our Jr. high and high school students who earned All A or A/B honor roll for the first quarter were rewarded with a fun trip of bowling and pizza! They had a fantastic time celebrating their hard work and achievements. Keep up the great effort, Polar Bears-we’re already looking forward to seeing more success in the second quarter. Remember, there’s a special zoo trip on the horizon for those who make the All A or A/B honor roll for the 2nd quarter! Let’s keep it up!
