Our second graders have been learning about force and motion and discovered that gravity pulls objects down. They put their learning into action by designing and building marble roller coasters with loops, twists, and turns. Students tested, adjusted, and improved their designs to make the marble “loop the loop”—and had a great time learning through hands-on science! 🎢🔬✨

Good evening. Due to slick roads and blowing and drifting snow, Hardin Northern will be starting tomorrow, Thursday, January 15th on a 2-hour delay. Any updates will be sent out in the morning. Be safe and have a good night.

Good afternoon. Due to snowy and windy conditions, bus routes may be running 10-20 minutes behind in some cases. Our drivers will be taking extra time and caution to safely deliver all of the kids home. The bus returning from the Columbus field trip is expected to return by 3:40-3:45. Yesterday, Hardin Northern students in grades 4–7 spent the day tubing at Snow Trails in Mansfield, Ohio! This fun-filled trip was a celebration of our school meeting its academic goals for the 2024–2025 school year.

Way to go, students! Your hard work in the classroom truly paid off.

Today in writing, second graders took on a fun challenge 🧱✏️ Each student received their own mini LEGO building kit—but with one twist… no instructions!

It didn’t take long for them to realize just how important instructions are and how much they help us. This hands-on activity was the perfect way to show the significance of procedural (how-to) writing and kick off our new writing unit.

2nd Quarter Honor Roll for Elementary

The Polar Pantry is an after school snack/drink program available for students involved in extra curricular activities. During the month of December, the Polar Pantry served a total of 101 different students & provided 494 "meals". The Polar Pantry averaged roughly 42 different students each day.
The Polar Pantry is funded with the help of United Way, the West Ohio Food Bank, and donations from our community. 2nd Quarter Honor Roll for Jr. High and High School

Last week, Kenton High School hosted the January Student Leaders United Meeting for Sophomores. Students were able to tour the new building. Jim Whitaker from OhioHealth presented to students. As a group, they had to prioritize different skills/attributes and be able to share why they felt it earned that spot on the priority list. The next meeting will be hosted by Riverdale High School in February.
