The History Brigade and Textile and Design class stepped back in time all the way to 1944. Mr. Foster and Ms. Cross led their students to Lauer Farm Historical Park in Lima where they were led by World War II reenactors through the Lauer Farm 1944 school day. The World War II reenactment will continue throughout the weekend. Students experienced first hand demonstrations, explored weaponry, food, armored vehicles, and home life from the time period.
Mr. Watkins's class has been presenting their independent book projects this week. Here are some examples of the things they've made.

Today, we had the privilege of welcoming Ohio Health’s media relations team to Hardin Northern to film a special commercial for the Ohio Health News Network. The team wanted to feature the Polar Pantry as a leader in Hardin County within schools and showcase the projects that Ohio Health generously supports through their non-profit initiatives. With the help of United Way of Hardin County, West Ohio Food Bank, Quest Federal Credit Union, Ohio Health, and other local partners and private donors, we are working together to make sure no student goes hungry. Superintendent Mr. Andrew Cano and Mrs. Bethany Kauffman were interviewed today and did a fantastic job addressing how this initiative has positively impacted students in our school through our after school snack program. Through community partnerships and generous donors, all of us can rally around our kids and our most vulnerable populations who need it the most and fight to end food insecurities. Stay tuned-this powerful video will be featured in the coming days!

2nd Grade Stand Out Student for September! Congratulations Ever!🎉
To begin their unit on rocks, 6th grade students participated in a rock show and tell this week. They identified the type of rock, looked at different features of their rocks, and gave their rock a name.
The first grade students at Hardin Northern have been researching bats. We have watched videos, read books, and taken notes. The students used their notes to make their own books. The used nonfiction text features like headings, bold words and table of contents. They each had a turn to read the book to the class. They enjoyed painting a bat craft.
