Congratulations to our JH/HS March Madness Reading winners! Students earned raffle tickets for every 20 minutes of reading during the month of March, and these lucky winners took home fun prizes! (Prizes made possible through Wilson Football Factory and the Hardin Co. Community Foundation)

Join us Wednesday, April 30th for the JH/HS Polar Bear Showcase & Art Show and also the JH/HS Band and Choir concert!

The second graders at Hardin Northern are having a blast today as they combined learning and fun with an Easter Egg Hunt! While searching high and low for colorful eggs, students were also sharpening their math and ELA skills. Each egg is filled with a special challenge-solving math problems and answering reading questions. Way to go, 2nd grade-cracking codes and eggs like pros!

Hardin Northern Announces 2025 Hall of Distinction Inductee, Dr. Juli Fulks
On Sunday, May 18 at 2 pm the Hardin Northern Community will gather to celebrate the graduation of the class of 2025. In addition, national champion head basketball coach, Dr. Juli Fulks will be inducted into the Hall of distinction and will address the graduates, their families, and friends.
Dr. Juli Fulks is the daughter of Gary and Debi Fulks and a 1996 graduate of Hardin Northern High School, where she competed in volleyball, basketball, and track. She earned her B.A. in Biology from Capital University in 2000, where she was a member of the NCAA Final Four women’s basketball team and a conference champion in both basketball and volleyball. She later earned her master's in education from Defiance College and completed her Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from the University of the Cumberlands in 2021.
Dr. Fulks began her head coaching career at Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, where she served from 2004 to 2014. She led the Pioneers to three straight NCAA Division III Tournament appearances, the first in program history, and a peak national ranking of No. 5 in 2013-14. Under her leadership, the team achieved three 20-win seasons and produced multiple All-Americans and Northwest Conference Players of the Year, transforming the program into a consistent WBCA Top-25 contender.
In 2014, she was named Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky. Over the next decade, she led one of the most dominant runs in NCAA Division III basketball history. Her teams captured six consecutive Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships and won six straight conference tournament titles (2019–2024). The Pioneers set a school and national milestone with a 64-game winning streak, the third longest in Division III history, and won the 2023 NCAA Division III National Championship with a perfect 33–0 record. Her teams also reached the Elite Eight in 2022, Final Four in 2024, and posted an astonishing three-year record of 92–2 from 2022 to 2024.
In 2024, Dr. Fulks was named the Head Women’s Basketball Coach at Marshall University, taking the reins of a Division I program while continuing her mission of building championship-level culture rooted in leadership, neuroscience, and team connectivity. A multiple-time WBCA National and Regional Coach of the Year, she has also spoken nationally at the WBCA Convention, NCAA Coaching Academies, and corporate leadership summits.
“I have two quotes that guide my thinking and leadership philosophies: ‘Time is a product of your priorities’ and ‘A rising tide lifts all boats.’ I encourage all future graduates to pursue their passions with purpose, align their time with what truly matters, and remember that lifting others creates a ripple effect of shared success. I’m incredibly grateful for my education at Hardin Northern, the teachers and coaches who shaped who I am, and the unwavering support of my family. That foundation has been the cornerstone of everything I’ve been able to accomplish.”
