Ms. DeLong's first grade class has started studying animals. They have been reading nonfiction stories, learning about text features, and writing their own informational text about an animal they chose. They have been having fun learning facts and comparing themselves to the different animals!

Ms. DeLong's class has been celebrating fall by studying pumpkins! They wrote facts and how to carve a pumpkin. They worked together to carve a pumpkin and then did an experiment with it. The first graders have been loving fall!

Congratulations to Alaina Thomas for being named Player of the Week by House of Awards and Sports for the week of September 29-October 5th! Way to go Alaina!🏐

Mrs. Hackworth's first grade at Hardin Northern had some fun exploring pumpkins. We carved a jack-o-lantern, compared different kinds, and did an experiment with candy pumpkins. They are all getting excited for Halloween.

What do you do after your class finishes a challenging unit on the French Revolution? You "Let them eat cake!"
Well, Marie Antoinette may not have ever said that, but it was enough reason to have a "Let them eat cake" Party for the World History class with the highest class average on their test. We had six cakes and one dish of brownies to celebrate their success.
