Hardin Northern’s longstanding, trusted notification platform, Blackboard Connect enables administrators to quickly deliver critical messages, including emergency alerts and important school announcements, via phone, text and email. Hardin Northern is holding a community-wide data drive, encouraging residents to verify and register their contact information in the system’s secure Connect Access Portal, where they can also manage their message settings, including their preferred language, mode of contact and specific message topics they wish to receive.
Hardin Northern uses Blackboard Connect to notify residents of urgent and routine communications, such as school delay and cancellations, safety warnings, and notices of special events.
Blackboard Connect allows us to stay connected by quickly distributing timely, relevant messages to our community. Now that residents have the power to customize their message settings, we can make sure they receive the messages that matter most to them. Plus, with the system’s instant reporting we can better track who received a message, and strategically plan for follow-up communications.

Open Enrollment Information and Application
The Hardin Northern Local School District will permit students for the 2023-2024 school year to enroll in the school system on a tuition free basis.
Beginning April 30, 2023 and continuing through the month of May, completed Open Enrollment Applications (see attached copy) will be accepted at the Office of the Superintendent located at 11589 St. Rt. 81, Dola, Oh 45835.
The priority by which applications will be approved will be based upon students previously enrolled under the district’s open enrollment policies, the date of receipt of open enrollment forms, and then by the time of receipt of open enrollment forms. The Hardin Northern Board of Education through its policy has established grade level, school building and educational program capacities. The final number of applicants approved for enrollment will be based upon those established capacities. Application may be rejected in situations where racial imbalances are caused as a result of open enrollment, for certain student disciplinary reasons, and in situations whereby the Hardin Northern District does not offer individual education plan services.
